FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Bahamas National Trust to Celebrate Earth Day with National Park Day on 7 Islands in 10 Parks on One Day.
On Saturday, April 21st, The Bahamas National Trust will commemorate Earth Day with its 1st Anual National Park Day, a cross-country celebration! The first annual National Park Day will host exciting activities for the family in 10 National Parks on 7 islands. Residents on Grand Bahama, Abaco, Andros, New Providence, Eleuthera, the Exuma Cays and Inagua will be able to connect with nature and build memories with this Fun Day designed for the whole family. Based on the Park you visit, you’ll be able to participate in exciting activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, guided tours, bird watching, sip & paint, bush tea tasting, dunk tanks, face painting, art and crafts and so much more! Patrons of the parks can expect to learn more about the natural treasures of The Bahamas’ National Parks while having the time of their life!
Around the world, April 22nd is celebrated as Earth Day – a day in which communities across the globe acknowledge the importance of the space we occupy, our planet, and our environment. The Bahamas National Trust is proud to have spent the past few years celebrating this momentous occasion with celebrations for the community at one of its 32 parks, Bonefish Pond National Park in New Providence. This year, the BNT is taking Earth Day in The Bahamas to the next level with the inclusion of The Retreat Garden on Village Road, Bonefish Pond National Park off of Cowpen Road, Primeval Forest near Albany off of Frank Watson Blvd. Lucayan National Park in Grand Bahama, Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve in Governors Harbor Eleuthera, Abaco National Park, Blue Holes National Park in Andros, Inagua National Park and The Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. Admission for the event at all locations is FREE for the general public and kicks off as early as 9 a.m.
This event, which promises to be a huge success will give all Bahamians a chance to explore their parks and learn about its decades of history.
