1. Why should I donate to the Bahamas National Trust?

Your support helps protect The Bahamas’ unique natural heritage, including our national parks, marine protected areas, wildlife, and environmental education programs. Every contribution helps ensure these irreplaceable natural resources are conserved for present and future generations.

2. How is my donation used?

Donations support the Bahamas National Trust’s conservation priorities, which may include park management, habitat restoration, environmental education, research, community engagement, wildlife protection, and other mission-driven initiatives. Some gifts may be directed to specific programs if designated by the donor.

3. Is my donation tax-deductible?

Tax deductibility depends on the donor’s country of residence and applicable tax laws. Residents of the United States can make tax deductible donations here. For US donations your donation is tax deductible, and a tax acknowledgement letter will be provided. We encourage donors to consult their tax advisor regarding eligibility.

4. Can I make a one-time donation?

Yes. One-time gifts of any amount are welcome and help support our ongoing conservation efforts.

5. Can I become a monthly donor?

Yes. Monthly giving is one of the most impactful ways to support our work by providing reliable funding throughout the year.

6. Is there a minimum donation amount?

No. Every gift, regardless of size, contributes to protecting The Bahamas’ natural resources.

 

Designated Giving

1. Can I support a specific national park or conservation project?

Yes. In many cases, donors may designate their gift to support a particular national park, conservation initiative, education program, or special project. 2. What happens if the project I selected has already been fully funded?

If a designated project has met its funding needs or circumstances change, the Bahamas National Trust may, after consulting with the donor where appropriate, direct the funds to a closely related conservation priority that aligns with the donor’s original intent.

 

Corporate Giving

1. How can my company support the Bahamas National Trust?

Businesses can support our work through corporate donations, employee giving campaigns, volunteer initiatives, in-kind donations, and long-term conservation partnerships.

2. Are sponsorship opportunities available?

Memorial and Tribute Giving

1. Can I donate in honor or memory of someone?

Yes. Tribute and memorial gifts are a meaningful way to celebrate a loved one while supporting conservation.

2. Will the family or honoree be notified?

Yes, if requested. We can send an acknowledgement to the individual or family without disclosing the donation amount unless directed by the donor.

 

Planned Giving

1. Can I leave a gift to the Bahamas National Trust in my will?

Yes. We welcome gifts of goods or services that support our mission and operational needs. Acceptance of in-kind donations is based on organizational needs and applicable policies.

1. Will my donation be recognized publicly?

We are pleased to recognize donors unless anonymity is requested. We respect every donor’s preference regarding public acknowledgement

2. Can I remain anonymous?

Absolutely. Donors may choose to remain anonymous, and we will respect that choice.

1. Is it safe to donate online?

Yes. We are committed to protecting your personal information and use secure methods for processing online donations.

2. Will my personal information be shared?

No. The Bahamas National Trust values your privacy and does not sell or share donor information except where required by law or necessary to process your donation.

Yes. All donations receive an official acknowledgement or receipt for your records.

2. How long does it take to receive my receipt?

Receipts are typically issued within a few business days after your donation has been processed.
