To celebrate World Oceans Week, the BNT is teaming up with Corona Beer and Jimmy’s Wine & Spirits to clean up and restore our mangroves!

The cleanup will take place at the Bonefish Pond National Park on Sunday, June 13th, 2021. There will be two volunteer shifts available: 2:00pm -3:30pm and 3:30pm – 5:00pm. We will have land-based cleanup and water cleanup (via kayaking).

Participation is limited to the first 70 registered volunteers.

Information for participants:

  • Everyone is required to wear a mask and practice safe social distancing
  • Dress for the outdoors and wear appropriate foot-wear
  • Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes like sneakers or shoes that can get wet and muddy we do not recommend flip-flops or sandals
  • Sunscreen sunglasses and hats are highly recommended
  • Bring gloves if you have them (we suggest reusable working or gardening gloves) We will have some onsite but cannot guarantee they will be in your size
  • Bring water in a reusable bottle. Let’s reduce waste and refuse single-use disposable plastic water bottles where possible. We will have a cooler for cold water refills

  • If you are under 18 and coming without a parent or guardian you must have a parent/guardian sign the waiver form in advance

  • Some participants will be shuttled to a second cleanup location
  • Refreshments will be provided

Have your own kayak? You can bring that too and join the kayaking cleanup group!
