The lights are twinkling, the artwork is up, the food is prepped and with Festival Noel just days away, the wines courtesy of Bristol Wines and Spirits are ready to be opened! As the main sponsor of Festival Noel for its existing years, Bristol is ready to dazzle the palates of wine connoisseurs and wine amateurs alike.
“Bristol Wines and Spirits is once again proud to be a major sponsor of Festival Noel,” said Rusty Scates, Wine Manager at Bristol Wines and Spirits. “This event, which is now in its 21st year, gives us the opportunity of showing many of our current wines while supporting the Bahamas National Trust, an extremely important NGO in The Bahamas.”
For this year’s Festival Noel, Bristol Wines and Spirits will be presenting wines from most of the major wine producing countries with nine tables showcasing red, white and sparkling wines. The festival, which takes place on Friday, December 4th at the Rand Nature Centre in Grand Bahama, will feature over thirty wines from Australia, Italy, Chile, California, Washington State, Argentina, France and New Zealand.
“One of the wines being showcased is 19 Crimes,” noted Scates. “The wine is a blend of Shiraz, Grenache, and Cabernet Sauvignon and celebrates the founding of a nation by criminals – it would definitely be a crime to miss this one!” He added, “We particularly encourage guests to sample Layer Cake Cabernet Sauvignon from California, Columbia Crest Syrah from Columbia Valley, Washington State, Oyster Bay Pinot Noir from New Zealand and Markham Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley, California.”
In addition to the plethora of wines available at this year’s event, Bahamian Brewery and Beverage will be serving their truly Bahamian beers for those non-wine drinkers. Seven restaurants will vie to be Chef Noel champion, music will be provided by 2 Left Feet as well as Derek Gape and Steve Persaud and featured artist Matthew Wildgoose will display his work along with eight local artists.
“We are getting very excited about this year’s event,” said Karin Sanchez, BNT Council Member and Festival Noel Committee member. “We’ve had tremendous support on social media for the event and hope that turns into ticket sales – we are ready for a full house of fun!”
The only way to enjoy all of the wines, beers, food and art is to attend Festival Noel. Tickets are available at the Rand Nature Centre, the Art of Giving, Barefoot Marketing and of course Bristol Wines and Spirits. Tickets are $50 for BNT members and $55 for non-members in advance, and $60 on the day of the event for everyone.
